A brilliant game of football this morning between 2 good, well matched teams ended up in great win for the boys this morning.

We started the game brilliantly and very quickly took the lead when Che took it round their player and finished well. Che then went through on goal and managed to score past the onrushing keeper perfectly to make it 2-0 to us. We then gave the ball away which gave Sherwood the chance to get back into the game and they finished well to make it 2-1. We then regained our 2 goal advantage before the break when Harrison took the ball forward from defence and finished brilliantly to make it 3-1.

In the second quarter we started slowly and once again gave the ball away which gave Sherwood the chance the get one back and they finished well. Sherwood started to dictate play in this quarter but the boys dug in well and defended well at times like a team. We managed to hit Sherwood on the counter attack with Loxley running through on goal and he finished expertly to once again regain our 2 goal lead. However before the break they manged to get another goal back from distance to make it 4-3 to us at half time.

In the third quarter we struggled to make any inroads going forward and didn't create too many chances but the boys continued to work hard with Ethan and Junior putting their midfielders under constant pressure and Noah working hard up front to stop their centre back playing out. Just before the break the referee awarded a penalty to Sherwood for handball, the player stepped up and finished well to make the game 4-4 going into the final 10 minutes.

Going into this quarter, the game could have gone either way depending on how the boys responded to being pegged back and they dominated this quarter, creating many chances, hitting the post and their keeper making some great saves but towards the end of the game we won a freekick for a foul on Loxley. Loxley then stepped up and finished well, putting the ball into the roof of the net to win the game for us 5-4.

A brilliant game today. The lads showed great character after being pegged back and managing to win the game. This will stand us in great stead as we move forward. This is our third win in a row and our 6th win in 8 games this season.

Goal Scorers:
Che x 2
Harrison x 1
Loxley x 2

Player of the match:
Che - His goals early on gave us a great platform to build on and his work rate to get back and defend when Harrison went forward is also something we've been trying to work on and worked well today.

Another great win. Onto the next match!

You Reds!
